Project overview
The project is a 120,000 square foot tenant improvement of an existing 1980s building. New work included upgrades to the general office space including conference rooms, meeting areas, break rooms, and shower and toilet rooms. Situated on a lagoon, the largely glass structure allows for plentiful natural light and a sense of permeability with the surrounding nature. Finishes and accessories in the space convey the sophistication and global presence of the client, but also center the comfort and humanity of the employees, with cozy, lounge-style vignettes, soft furnishings, and many naturalistic accents.
The brief
The restrooms needed to have a clean and seamless look and sustain the bright, contemporary feel of the public spaces, while conforming to the LEED Platinum certification sought for the project. The products chosen for the restroom would necessarily adapt to a variety of spaces and layouts, and maintaining a cohesive aesthetic would be key, as each floor would house a multi-user restroom and a single-user ADA restroom, and the project would also require single-iteration restrooms for feature spaces like the fitness center.
The solution
Architects

specified numerous configurations of Monolith Basin with black PVD

fixtures. For the main restrooms - a repeating design on each of the office floors - a long trough sink is installed with The Ribbon 3-Fixture system for easy paper-towel-free hand washing. The soap dispenser, faucet, and dryer in graduated heights at each user station create a consistently touch free interface. A single-user ADA restroom on each floor has a wider sink with a single three-fixture setting. Basins were specified in Corian
™
Antarctica, a subtle aggregate finish, the softness of which melds with the natural wood stall partitions and the textured glass tile backsplashes. The Splash Lab's modular systems allowed this configuration to be replicated easily throughout the space, creating continuity in both experience and aesthetics.
